These days, the popularity of in floor heating systems has hiked because of the fact that the cost of the alternatives has increased a lot. This is now one of the most availed options in the cold areas, where the temperature becomes very low especially between the months of October to February. In floor means, that the heating system is installed below the floor, so as to keep the home warm by providing radiant heat to the ground. Because of the efficiency and cost effectiveness of this type of radiant heating, it has got an edge over the traditional systems. Installation of these in floor heating systems is going to give you the benefit of saving energy cost up to 40%. There are different types of energy systems that are available today, and you should be careful enough to choose the right system for you. It is very important to choose the type that suits the needs of your floor type and energy requirements. Some systems are faster at providing radiant heat compared to others, and so you should be aware of the benefits of different types before you install one at your home. There are three main types of in floor heating as below;
1. Hydronic Heating: In this type of in floor heating, basically the pipes are installed below the floor. As the name depicts, this system is supported by using the heat of boiling water. The water in the pipes is heated up by using a boiler machine; which constantly keeps the water hot, and so the warmth is transformed above the floor in the rooms. The boiler machine supports different energy sources including electricity, solar energy and gas; and you can choose the one that suits you best. The complexity of this type of in floor heating makes it little difficult to be installed and maintained.
2. Electric Floor Heating: This type of in floor heating is costly as compared to the other types because of the fact that it requires the consumption of electricity. However, the ease of installation and simplicity of the system makes it ideal for ensuring a warm and comfortable environment at home. This type of in floor heating is installed mostly in the small areas, and it works efficiently to warm up a place in minimum time.
3. Wood Burning Heating: In this type of heating, the pipes are installed under the floor, just like hydronic heating. However, for heating up of water; a wood box is used, which basically boils the water by getting energy from the woods burned in the wood box. It is a feasible option in the areas, where the wood is easily available at inexpensive rates. Most of the times, this type of in floor heating is used in conjunction with other heating types, because it is bit difficult to be maintained, for the reason that it needs effort of bringing woods and burning those. However, it is one of the most popular heating systems used in the hilly and forested areas.
